1For which grades the admissions are open for Academic Year 2022-23?
From Kindergarten -Nursery/Montessori to Grade VIII and Grade IX. The grade XI admissions are open.
2What is the admission process?
a.Parents seeking admission to NPS-ITPL are requested to login to our website admissions.npsitpl.com.
b.Registration has to be completed by providing the mobile number, e-mail ID and verification process.
c.Application Form link will be sent to your registered e-mail id. Kindly click on the link and submit the application form online with required details.
d.After the application form is submitted, a confirmation letter for the entrance test will be sent to your registered mail.
e.The entrance test will be conducted either online or at school campus depending on the pandemic situation.
f.Based on the entrance test result, the admission’s team will organize meeting with our Academic Team for the student and parent (the meeting could be virtual or in person).
e.After this meeting the final admission status will be confirmed for your ward.
3What is the process for the entrance test?
a. Montessori/Kindergarten and Grade I - The student will have to attend an online interaction with the grade teachers.
b. For Grades II to VIII - The student will have to complete an online grade – appropriate written entrance test.
c.For Grade XI – The student will have to complete a written exam and personal interaction at the school campus. The grade X term one marks have to be submitted to the school before the entrance test.
4What would be the academic content for the entrance test?
a. Montessori/Kindergarten and Grade I - Age-appropriate assessment based on perceptual, communication, motor, and analytical skills.
b. For Grades I to II - The content from English, Math, and EVS would be covered.
c. For Grades III to VIII - The content of English, Math, Science and chosen second language from the grade student is presently studying.
d. For Grade XI -The entrance test would be conducted in English, Mathematics and General Science.
5What documents are to be carried for the entrance test (if applicable)?
a.The printed copy of the completed registration acknowledgement of the school.
b.Hard copy of your ward’s birth certificate.
c.Hard copy of your ward’s last three years report cards (if applicable).
6What is the time-line for the parent to receive admission confirmation from the school?
a. Pre-primary – Grade VIII - If your ward is selected, the admission confirmation mail will be shared within a fortnight on completion of the entrance test and academic interaction.
b. For Grade XI – The marks of the entrance test along with the X grade first term results will be considered for admission.
7What are the various pre-primary programs followed at NPS ITPL?
a.Kindergarten - Education techniques are designed to cater to the student’s required life skills and cognitive development. The best of various educational approaches like Waldorf Education, Reggio Emilia, Glenn Doman techniques to name a few are followed.
b.Montessori Method - Montessori Method was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori based on the age-appropriate observations and life skill development of individual child. The various subjects are taught with scientifically designed materials to enhance holistic education.
8How many years is the Kindergarten programme?
a.Kindergarten is a three-year programme Nursery, LKG (K-I) and UKG (K-II).
b.Montessori is a three-year programme Montessori I, Montessori II and Montessori III.
9What would be the age criteria for admission to Nursery or Grade I?
a.Nursery/Montessori -I - The student’s age as on 1st June 2022 should be between 2.5 years to 3.5 years.
b.Grade I- The student’s age as on 1st June 2022 should be between 5.5 years to 6.5 years.
10What are the timings of the school?
a. Kindergarten/Montessori - 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM (Physical School).
b. Grade 1 and above - 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Physical School).
ONLINE SCHOOL
a. Kindergarten - Each session is conducted for 30 minutes with a 15-minutes break. School Timing - 9.00AM – 12.00 PM.
b. Grades I-II - Each session is conducted for 35 minutes with 5-minutes break in-between each session. One snack-break for 10-minutes. School Timing - 8:30AM – 12:30PM.
c. Grades III-V - Each session is conducted for 35 minutes with 5-minutes break in-between each session. One snack-break for 10-minutes and lunch-break for 30 minutes. School Timings 8:30AM – 1:30PM.
d. Grade VI – X Each session is conducted for 35 minutes with 5-minutes break in-between each session. One snack-break for 10-minutes and lunch-break for 30 minutes. School Timings 8:30AM – 2:30PM.
e. Grade XI - Each session is conducted for 45 minutes with 5-minutes break in-between each session. One snack-break for 10-minutes and lunch-break for 30 minutes. School Timings 8:30AM – 3:00PM.
11How many students are there in a class?
a. Pre-primary - 28-30 students (with two teachers)
b. Primary - 30-32 students
c. Secondary - 32-35 students.
d. Senior Secondary – 35-38 students
12Which Co - Scholastic activities are conducted in the school?
a. The co-scholastic activities are part of the daily timetable (physical and online school).
b. Physical Education, Sports, Music, Dance, Public Speaking, Art and crafts, Clubs, Special Assembly are few of the activities conducted in the school.
13What is the second language policy of the school?
a.The school offers Hindi/Kannada as second language.
As per National Education Plan (NEP), learning Kannada language is mandatory.
b.Grade I – Both Hindi and Kannada language will be mandatory.
c.Grades II-IV - Both Hindi and Kannada language will be mandatory, with a variation
-If the student’s chosen second language is Hindi, he/she will learn Hindi at Grade second language level and Kannada at **Beginner level.
-If the student’s chosen second language is Kannada, he/she will learn Kannada at Grade second language level and Hindi at **Beginner level.
NOTE - **For the students who have not studied the language earlier.
d.Grade V-VIII - The third language would be introduced from Grade V.
- If second language chosen is Kannada/Hindi, then Hindi/Kannada would be the third language option, which will be taught at Beginner level.
14How helpful would school be in providing support to facilitate the learning from home?
The school management provides technical support to both parents and students to make virtual learning effective.
15In the online class, how do the students interact with each other?
a. The online curriculum is designed to include a lot of fun-filled interactive activities to help students bond with their peers as well as the teachers.
b. Classroom discussions are planned well to provide opportunities for making social and emotional learning instructions explicit, especially in a virtual classroom.
c. Classes such as value education, arts, physical education, co-curricular activities and various clubs also give a chance for students to develop interpersonal skills.
16Do the students need to be technically trained to attend online classes?
a. No specific technical knowledge is required.
b. Teachers assist students to understand the process and guide them accordingly.
c. For kindergarten and junior classes, certain extent of parent supervision would be required.
17What device is recommended for online learning?
a. A laptop or desktop should be used to offer uninterrupted learning.
b. The screen size and technical backup of these devices are helpful.
18Is the online learning as effective as physical classes?
a. Considering the alternative, our teachers are continuously being trained with virtual teaching methods to conduct the online classes effectively.
b. The teaching and assessment pattern for primary and higher grades has been designed to equip the student with grade appropriate skills.
c. Understanding the importance of co-curricular activities and providing a wholesome learning experience.
d. The holistic development of each student is addressed even in the online classes.
19Are the textbooks and notebooks provided by the school?
a.The textbooks and notebooks will be provided by the school.
b.The details of the books will be updated on the school parent portal and the website.
20How should the notebooks and textbooks be covered?
a. For KG I, KG II, Grades I-II
-Notebooks need not to be covered.
- Textbooks must be covered with plain brown sheet.
- Stick labels on the top right-hand corner of the textbook.
- Mention the name of the student and class on the label. The section and the subject will be entered later.
b. For Grades III – X
- Notebooks need not to be covered.
- Textbooks must be covered with plain brown sheet.
- Refrain from using fancy labels.

- Boys/Girls: Bata Black shoes with Velcro.
- No sports shoe for Kindergarten.

- Boys and Girls: Bata white shoes with Velcro with sports uniform.
22How are the fees to be paid?

24What are the safety precautions followed at the school?
